Review: White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout

White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Series: The Dark Elements (#1)
Released: March 1st, 2014
Pages: 400
Source: Purchased / Audiobook
Rating: 4 / 5

Seventeen-year-old Layla has never been kissed, because for everyone with a soul, her kisses are deadly. Half demon, half gargoyle, Layla has abilities no one else possesses.
Raised among the Wardens—a race of gargoyles tasked with hunting demons and keeping humanity safe—Layla tries to fit in, but that means hiding her own dark side from those she loves the most. Especially Zayne, the swoon-worthy, incredibly gorgeous and completely off-limits Warden she's crushed on since forever.
Then she meets Roth—a tattooed, sinfully hot demon who claims to know all her secrets. Layla knows she should stay away, but she's not sure she wants to—especially when that whole no-kissing thing isn't an issue, considering Roth has no soul.
But when Layla discovers she's the reason for the violent demon uprising, trusting Roth could not only ruin her chances with Zayne… it could brand her a traitor to her family. Worse yet, it could become a one-way ticket to the end of the world.

Jennifer L. Armentrout is the master of addictive fun writing. I flew through the book and couldn't stop listening to the audiobook. I even immediately started the second book, and my review will be up very soon.
If you are thinking that this will be a dark, supernatural fantasy book, be warned it is more of a love story with some supernatural elements.
I would definitely recommend this book to every Sam and Dean fan aka Supernatural screamer and kid of the 90s, who like me, loved the gargoyles disney series - flashback.

Although there wasn't a lot else going on I loved the sexy characters and their love story.
I am 100% team Roth, and I think she is way better off with him than with stoney and his clan. All the secrets would have driven me away and Abbot wasn't really much of a father anyway. If I could choose one side I would probably go dark, because honestly who doesn't want to have their own moving tattoo protector, and sleeping like stone during the day, nah, I rather be out in the sunlight and enjoy life ;D.

If you already read the book, let me know how you liked it, I would love to know in the comments :).
Are you team Zayne or Roth? Would you rather have demonic powers or be a gargoyle and one of the good guys?
